Elections Process & Timeline

Election Information Meetings

There will be one optional informational session this year! The first one will be held on Friday, March 27 at 2:30pm in the Stackel Room in Wilson Commons. You will also have the opportunity to talk to many members of SA Government at this meeting in addition to learning about the election process and rules. If you are not able to attend, please watch the elections information video instead, as this information will be needed in order to pass the elections quiz.

Registration of Candidacy

To formally register as a candidate, complete the Election Candidacy Submission before Monday, March 30th at 12 p.m. (noon) EST. In order to do so, you must first take the Election Rules Quiz, which you can retake as many times as necessary. After you complete the Election Rules Quiz, you will receive a confirmation email containing your results and a link to the Election Candidacy Submission form. If you did not pass the test, you must retake it until you pass before submitting the Election Candidacy Submission form. Once you pass the test, fill out the Election Candidacy Submission form.

Campaign Period

Make use of the campaign period to properly get your platform out to the voters. Be sure to follow all campaigning rules and policies. The Spring 2026 campaign period begins on Tuesday, March 31st at 8am and ends on Thursday, April 9th at 10 pm EST. Make sure you do not campaign outside of this time period. Also, please make sure that all of your campaign materials are taken down no later than 48 hours after the voting period has ended.

Voting

Voting will take place through a link on this website and on CCC. Elections utilize affirmative voting, so students may vote for as many candidates as they like. Voting will begin on Wednesday, April 8th at 10:00 am EST and will end on Thursday, April 9th at 10:00 pm EST.
