  • Music Therapy Workshop
    Coordinators: Dan Chess
In this workshop, NJR members work in collaboration with Upstate New York Families for Effective Autism Treatment (UNYFEAT) to provide music therapy sessions for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the Rochester area who are between the ages of seven and twelve. Volunteers are paired one-on-one with a child and work with him/her both individually and in the context of a larger group every week. The goal of this workshop is to teach the children rudimentary musical skills, foster social interaction among them, encourage them to explore their creativity, indulge their personal strengths, and of course, to have fun!
