What is Mock Trial?

Mock Trial is a competitive simulation of a trial. The American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) provides a fictional case for teams to reenact. Each team is made of 10 people, with people split into playing prosecution and/or defense.

You can choose to be an attorney, witness, or both if you’re doubling! Attorneys will need to direct their own witnesses, cross examine the opposing team’s witness, and object throughout trial. Witnesses will need to play a character, with their “script” being the AMTA-issued affidavit. Although, you’ll need to go off-script sometimes–especially when you’re getting cross examined.
