About The Strong Jugglers

Our History

The Strong Jugglers were founded in 1995 when a group of students began going to Strong Memorial Hospital to juggle for young patients. The group soon expanded to become a University of Rochester organization with regular practices and an annual show. We provide a space for the expression, sharing, and teaching of juggling and other circus arts.

Club Meetings

We meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9pm, usually in the May Room (Wilson Commons 401) during the academic year. This time and location may vary slightly depending on the availability of campus spaces and Covid-19 restrictions, but we will update the calendar accordingly. For those interested in performing with our club, we hold additional rehearsals to work on shows. We add new performances and practices to our schedule often: Contact us for an up-to-date schedule.

Anyone is welcome to our informal practices to learn new skills or share their knowledge. Our club has no dues, and there is no time commitment (unless you choose to perform in our shows)! We're very welcoming to new members, so come hang out even if you have no prior experience! We can teach anyone. If you do have experience, that is also awesome! We also do more advanced tricks and patterns, as well as passing (learn more about passing), endurance (read about juggling endurance), combat (find out about juggling combat), and other fun group activities.

What we do

We have members with a wide range of abilities in juggling balls, clubs, and rings; passing; diabolo; poi; unicycle; walking on globes (really large balls); fire props; knife juggling; levitation wands; hoops; and other props. We bring all sorts of club equipment to practices, so there's no need to bring or even own equipment to participate!
