After a rather tumultuous school year, the U of R Baja team bids goodbye to the five graduated seniors and a graduate student: Madeline Bedrock, Harris Mandell, Daniel Troyetsky, Ethan Fahnestock, Jaafar Al Haldab, and Charlie Patterson. All these members dedicated so much of their time to U of R and Baja. We will miss them very much as the new school year approaches. Here is a bit about them and what they are up to now.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Madeline Bedrock, a mechanical engineering major, spent much of her time as the Business Manager (2018-2019) and the President (2019-2021) during her four years on the team. She is currently in a post bacc program at Case Western Reserve University to one day become a doctor. We wish her the best of luck in the future!<\/span><\/p>\n

Harris Mandell, a mechanical engineering major, served as the team\u2019s Chief Mechanic (2019-2021) during his four years on the team. Harris is currently working towards his Master of Engineering in mechanical engineering at Cornell University. We wish him the best of luck as he completes his degree!<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Daniel Troyetsky, a mechanical engineering major, was the team\u2019s Drivetrain Lead (2019-2020) and the Chief Engineer (2020-2021), during his four years on the team. He is currently working towards his PhD in Aeronautics and Astronautics with a focus on computational modelling of Hall effect thrusters with support from a NSTRGO fellowship. We wish him the best of luck in the future!<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ethan Fahnestock, an electrical engineering major, was the Data Acquisition Lead (2018-2020) and piloted the new Autonomous Vehicle Lead (2020-2021) during his four years on the team. Ethan is currently working on machine learning with deep sea robots at a joint oceanographic robotics program at MIT. We wish him the best of luck in his job!<\/span><\/p>\n

Charlie Patterson, a biomedical engineer, spent the last year on the team as the Chief Welder for the team. When Charlie was an undergraduate student, he was the President (2017-2018) and Drivetrain lead (2018-2019) during his four years on the team. He recently completed his Masters of Science in Biomedical Engineering through the Center for Medical Technology and Innovation at the University of Rochester and earned a job as a Product Development Engineer at LSI Solutions. We wish Charlie the best of luck in his job!<\/span><\/p>\n
