Installing and Running SolidWorks PDM
When installing SolidWorks, there will be an option to install the PDM Client as well. Make sure this box is checked.
Once installed, PDM will need to be launched. In the "Tools" drop-down menu, select "Add-ins." This will display a list of all installed Add-ins. Check the two boxes on each side of "SolidWorks Workgroup PDM." Press OK. The PDM client should be running.
Choosing where PDM saves Files
Open the PDM File Manager, accessed through one of "File Explorer" tab on the right. Locate the PDM file-tree, which should be at the lower-right. Right click in an empty space near this tree, and select "SolidWorks Workgroup PDM Options..." In the resulting window, select the "Folders" tab. Select the "Use folder:" option and click "Browse..." to select where PDM will store local files. It is recommended to create a dedicated folder for this purpose.
Logging-in to SolidWorks PDM
Once PDM is running, log-in. You may need to request an account from one of the PDM Admins (Generally a member of E-Board).
