Kids-2-Kollege:"A community service program with mentoring in mind"

Mentoring today's youth is no small task, nor is it something to be taken lightly. It's a commitment that takes hard work and an enormous amount of dedication.Yet, with all of its challenges, the rewards of being a mentor make it all the more worth while. Mentoring youth is not a job that just anyone can do. It takes a special person to pour out wisdom and knowledge into the lives of today's youth. Therefore, the question remains, is it for you?

What are we about?

Kids-2-Kollege is a community service outreach that enables students from the University of Rochester to establish relationships with local high school students of various underrepresented ethnic groups. The aim of the program is to inspire students who might not otherwise attend institutions of higher learning to enter into the next phase of education after graduating from high school.

We emphasize the importance of college through a variety of monthly activities, all of which focus on pusuing excellence. Most of all, we have fun! In the past, a few of the social events we have sponsored were "Shadowing Day" and "Gym Night". This year will be no different. We plan to inspire, as well as have fun. So join us and prove that Kids-2-Kollege is right for you!

So what's in it for you?

As mentors, you never quite know how great an impact you'll have in the life of a teen. It's true that you won't gain notoriety, but it's also true that you will make a difference. However you can't make a difference until you join Kids-2-Kollege. Sign up today!
