To participate in any social event, sign up at a meeting or on the Pac-Man wall in Burton 2, or e-mail the Social Chair.

Most social events are arranged by the Social Chair, but everyone is encouraged to plan their own social events and bring a sign-up sheet to the weekly meetings. In addition to social events, every week at our meeting we present two awards: Tiernanite of the Week and our spirit award. The recipients of these awards keep them for a week, then bring them back to the next meeting, when they will be awarded to someone else. To nominate someone for an award, write down the name of the person you’re nominating and why he/she deserves the award and place your nomination in the envelope on the Pac Man Wall in Burton 2 (it has Pac Men on it—you can’t miss it!). The Tiernanite award consists of an article of clothing onto which the recipient for each week attaches something, which could be a sticker, patch, or anything at all. It is awarded for doing some sort of random act of kindness, and thereby exemplifying what we’re all about. The spirit award consists of our mascot, the Tiernasaurus Rex. It can be awarded for doing something funny or random, anything from falling in the mud to acing an exam. Every year we have a contest to name our mascot. If you have an idea, write it on the sign up sheet on the Pac Man Wall!
