Question Writing Organizations
- Academic Competition Federation (ACF)
- ACF questions tend to be academic in nature, with very few questions about pop culture. ACF's format and style are also popular for independent tournaments.
- College Bowl (CBI)
- While the Thelion Society doesn't participate directly in CBI, the organization merits mention. It used to be a radio and tv show, but they stopped being aired in the 1970's. Their questions tend to be a mix of academic, pop culture, and current events.
- National Academic Quiz Tournaments (NAQT)
- NAQT is sort of in between ACF and CBI in terms of the types of questions asked as well as accessibility. NAQT may be the most popular format in quizbowl today.
- Testing Recall About Strange Happenings (TRASH)
- TRASH is similar to ACF in terms of difficulty, but it is at the opposite end of the spectrum of subject matter. All questions are about pop culture.
