City Cycles is the University of Rochester’s free bicycle lending program. Sponsored by the Students’ Association, City Cycles aims to promote bicycling as an attractive and sustainable mode of transportation for the University of Rochester community. The program accomplishes this goal by providing high-quality cycling equipment and services and by encouraging off-campus exploration and experiences.
Students and members of the Goergen Athletic Center can rent bikes at the front desk to the athletic center during regular business hours. The program has 17 bikes and helmets available for use. City Cycles operates from early Spring through late Fall, and closes down for the winter. Since the program was started in 2004 by two students, Andrew Hall and Adam Baratz, it has flourished and is one of the most popular services of the Students’ Association. For more information, questions, or if you want to get involved, contact the Projects and Services Co-Chairs. The program is jointly administered by the Projects and Services Committee and Beverly Buscemi (firstname.lastname@example.org), the Ticket and Transportation Coordinator for Wilson Common Student Activities.
Also, be sure to visit the City Cycles website for detailed information about how to rent bikes, helmets, policies and procedures.
