You probably thought Senior year was going to be easy, just finishing up a few loose ends here and there, completing the last course in a cluster, taking a few “for fun” courses, etc. After all, we have seen three other Senior classes do just this, and they have made it look easy. We were SO wrong. Is it just me, or do you feel bogged down with work despite cutting your course work load to 3 1/2 classes for once? You would think we had learned by now the best way to budget time, trimmed off the excess activities, and YET we seem to have more commitments than ever. SOLUTION: Attend any and all Senior events. It is the last year we can legitimately excuse any intentional procrastination.

Not only that, now we have to ask the question – where are we going next? Remember during our freshman year the questions were always “Where are you from? What do you want to major in?” Now it is “Where are you applying for (Fill in the Blank) School? What jobs are you applying for?” Personally, I forget the reality and forbid the use of the G word – I have no idea what I am going to do when I can no longer pay for things with declining. SOLUTION: Spend another four years in school.

Enjoy Senior year, for it is our last (unless you are a Take 5/Key/2-3/etc.),
Lauren Sussman, Class of 2010 Senator
