Favorite thing about Rochester: I love the diversity of the campus. Diversity includes not just ethnicity or nationality, but I love the fact that there is diversity in conversing with others. People here are incredibly well rounded and know how to have a good time as well.

I spent much of my life in NYC so essentially I am more of a city person than a suburban person. I plan on living in NYC again after (hopefully) graduating from medical school. I love working with people and organizing events. I am BIG on TV and love Desperate Housewives, House MD, Law and Order SVU and Friends. I adore food and love anyone who can appreciate a sarcastic comment Rochester was my second choice when it came to schools. This was based upon the fact that I would be able to stay on the pre-med track and not have to sacrifice my other desires in regards to what I wanted to study. When I visited the school, I fell in love with the campus feel as well as well as the community of people. Not only are people well-rounded, but they are open-minded and collaborative. I applied to be elections chair my freshmen year during the spring semester. When I was working on events and keeping candidates informed, I noticed just how little the student body knows about the work that the SA does. People either didn’t know the difference between the SA and class council or they were unaware of the fact that students were actually proactively working on how to improve campus life. I took this to be an issue in the SA needing to improve on communicating their work to the student body so as such, my role as elections chair serves as a dual purpose: to manage the fall freshmen elections, and to work closely with communications to increase student government awareness and participation. Specifically, I will be working to increase awareness of SA work to the class of 2013
