Favorite thing about Rochester: The fact that I can meet interesting, new people every single day and still feel like I belong to a close-knit community.

Hi, I’m Kristian Brooks. I grew up on a farm in Corunna, Michigan and moved to Chicago when I was sixteen. My family still lives on the farm so I’m lucky to have the best of both worlds. I love traveling, antiques, adventures, infomercials, and dancing. On campus, I am an inaugural member of the new competitive dance group, Louvre. If you see a crazy redhead dancing like a fool anywhere around campus, it might just be me. At the U of R I am also involved with Delta Gamma sorority. My favorite part about the University of Rochester is that, as students, we have every opportunity to get involved in anything we are interested in. There are 232 student groups on campus that range from community service and pre-professional groups to inter-collegiate competition and cultural organizations. As the chairperson of the Policy and Review Committee I get the chance to help student groups flourish, as well as help interested students form new organizations that will contribute to the campus community. Another thing about UR that I love is that I get to meet new people with interesting stories to tell every single day. Hopefully I’ll get to hear yours next!
