“By the court.” An unsigned opinion of the council, used in Students’ Association hearings when all council members agree to a finding.

Plea
The respondent’s answer to the complaint of a discipline violation. Pleas are ‘responsible’ or ‘not responsible.’

Preponderance
The burden of proof for the University’s judicial hearings: 51% sure or ‘more likely than not’

Respondent
The party against whom the complaint is brought.

Responsible
Culpable for the incident under investigation.

Sanctions
Measures enacted by the University to resolve the situation or provide education for the disciplinary offense
