This morning SA President Bradley Halpern assisted several university officials, including President Seligman, in the ceremonial groundbreaking of the new $17 million residence hall.
Through a combination of singles, doubles and adjoining doubles, there will be housing space for approximately 150 sophomores, juniors and seniors with a desire to live in Founders Court, which currently encompasses Anderson and Wilder Towers and the Sage Arts Center. The building is targeted to meet LEED gold certification standards, the first on River Campus, for its reduced impact on the environment and improved energy performance.
The new residence hall will open to students for Fall 2012.
