More Bike Racks on Campus?

The campus-wide shortage of bicycle racks is a well known problem, prohibiting security and general accessibility. Especially in the winter seasons, covered storage becomes increasingly sparse and ever more necessary. The Projects & Services Committee wants to do something about this, so we’re asking for your help:

Facilities can place 10 new bike racks on campus. Where should they go? Tell us your thoughts!

    Locations that I’ve noticed are often crowded are Sue B, Wilson Commons, the gym, and ITS. Riverview is also very crowded, but I don’t know if that’s in your control.

    Also, the type of racks outside Wilson Commons, the gym, Carlson, and several other locations with the wide gap and triangular ring to lock to are the best kind because it allows the bike close enough to fit a u-lock through both the frame and the wheel. The racks in Southside and Riverview are very difficult to fit into and to grab both the frame and wheel.
