There’s still time to submit your suggestion for our new mascot’s name. Submissions can be made through Dec. 14 using the online form or via suggestion boxes located at the Eastman School and on the River Campus. A committee of students, faculty, and staff will review the suggestions and select the top five. Voting for the final selection will begin in January.
This mascot is a total ripoff of Georgia Tech’s yellow jacket. I have seen their mascot be used directly in our t-shirts, fliers, etc, and I think its ok, but when our mascot looks almost exactly like theirs, I think it’s a problem. After all the stress that UR places on academic honesty, I can’t believe that we are plagiarizing another school’s mascot. It is embarrassing.
