Interested in Joining the College Republicans?

Below is a brief overview of the club.  If you have more questions, feel free to contact the club chair.

Meetings:

Most Thursdays at 8 pm in the Welles Brown Room of Rush Rhees Library.

Mission:

To make known and promote the principles of the Republican Party among members of the University of Rochester and the community. To aid in the election of Republican candidates at all levels of government. To encourage and assist in the organization and active functioning of the Republican Party at local, state, and national levels. To develop political skills and leadership abilities among Republican students as preparation for future service by them to the Party and community.

What we do:

Aside from our weekly meetings, a unique highlight of the College Republicans is what we have termed Republican 'Nights Out'- a fun opportunity to dine at a local restaurant with members of the group usually followed by an after party of some degree. We try to plan them once a month or so.

During campaign season we conduct voter registration, go door-to-door passing out information on Republican candidates, and even invite the candidates to speak to the group.  We also take the opportunity to show our support for local GOP candidates.

Membership:

The College Republicans are not SA funded. We are financed through fundraisers (primarily a 50-50 raffle) as well as membership dues. By paying dues (historically $5/ semester) you become a voting member of the group.
