Volunteer with BLUE-MED- GHANA
The volunteer program at Ghana consists of helping out at regional hospital, orphanage, medical screening, and renovation projects. I have been in contact with the director of the program, Richard. They are very interested in having a large group of volunteers over the summer.

MLK Day of Service- Jan 18th
MLK Day lands on Saturday, January 18, this year–just a few days after students return from winter break. Hence, we are asking for you and your club members to sign-up now before Thanksgiving break if you would be kind enough to commit a few hours between 9am – 1pm on Saturday, Jan. 18, to come help us volunteer at a variety of community service host sites.

As a recipient of the National Science Foundation’s prestigious IGERT (Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship) award, Tufts University has accepted the challenge of establishing new models for graduate education and training. Our goal is to create a collaborative environment in which our research transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries, with a focus on soft material robotics.

What do Unite For Sight volunteers do? Unite For Sight’s Volunteer Abroad Program[mx.technolutions.net] is an immersive global health experience for students and professionals who are interested in public health, international development, medicine, or social entrepreneurship. Volunteers participate with and learn from Unite For Sight’s talented local partner eye doctors who have provided care to nearly 1.7 million patients living in poverty, including 70,000 sight-restoring surgeries. Volunteers assist with patient education, visual acuity testing, patient intake, distributing the glasses and medication prescribed by the local eye doctors, and other important support tasks. They also have the opportunity to observe the surgeries provided by the local doctors. Additionally, volunteers may participate in the Global Impact Lab, an optional program for those interested in pursuing research. For example, we currently have volunteers pursuing research studies about medication management, the use of visual resources for patient education, traditional medicine practices, and patient barriers to eye care.
