Ramadan Dinner November 22nd in Douglass Dining Hall
This is the dinner that is quickly becoming a tradition at UR. How can it not be? Buffet Indian Cuisine!! Last year we had over 200 students and sadly had to turn some away. This year we hope it to be bigger than ever. Muslims believe that all things, what we perceive as good or bad, comes from our Creator, Allah.
The success of last year's event we truly owe to Allah (the Most High) and then to some excellent Indian cuisine. When tickets go on sale, be sure to reserve yours. Also that day we are asking and inviting all students, faculty, and staff to not eat, drink, smoke, or allow yourself to get angry or emotional from dawn to sunset. Then come and join us at the dinner to break your fast.
The purpose of this event is to introduce the UR community to some of the most beloved and cherished traditions of the religion of Islam. As Muslim students, we realize that this is the first time that many students will have ever seen, talked to, or "broken pita" with a Muslim person. It is our sincerest wish to show you, the UR community, the true face of Islam and Muslims. Muslim hospitality and generosity has been regarded by world travelers as second to none and we want to show this to our fellow students, faculty and staff. Come and be our guest, inshaa'Allah [if God wills it].
