University of Rochester Handball Team An Introduction The University of Rochester Handball Team was founded in early 2006 and has grown incredibly since then. Our Division 1 team is currently ranked 22nd in the Naiton, with the men's team ranked 20th in the naiton. We compete at the collegiate level with annual tournaments against St. John Fischer College and SUNY Buffallo, as well as at the Collegiate Handball National Tournaments, which have been hosted in Texas and California the past two years, respectively. Additionally, we compete in USHA sancitoned tournaments which are open the general handball public - Albany NY, Syracuse NY, Rochester NY, Chicago IL, and Canada. Our coaches Dan and Samantha played Division 1 Handball throughout their undergraduate career at Lake Forest College and have attained All American Status in the sport. They have continued in that vain by volunteering to teach and coach this great sport to the University of Rochester student body and community. “Using the criteria of cardio-respiratory endurance, muscular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and balance, Handball was ranked #1, followed by swimming and jogging.” -Dr. Kenneth Cooper Anyone interested in learning more or playing is more than welcome to check us out at practice - all skill levels welcome. |
