Criteria for Eligibility to Receive Community Service Network Funding
Administrative
- All campus groups are welcome to submit a form to request financial aid from CSN. In addition, groups are invited to attend all meetings, but only SA recognized groups and the CSN Executive Board are allowed to vote on the proposals.
- All forms for request must be completely filled out and submitted to CSN President Deborah Richardon before the next scheduled CSN meeting.
- Partnering with other groups (both on- and off-campus) is not only useful in alleviating the cost of a project/event, but necessary. It is expected of the group to have tried to branch out to other groups to request aid, rather than solely relying on CSN funding.
- At least one member from the group requesting money should be present at the next CSN meeting to provide information about the group that is requesting money and the reason for requesting money.
- The group’s proposal will be subject to a vote by CSN’s executive board and SA group members present.
- In addition, attending a meeting following the event/project is expected to discuss how the allocation of money matched up to the original request, pointers for other groups, and whether or not the event should become a continual event. Failure to attend a meeting following the event will subject the group to probation from receiving future aid from CSN.
Intent of the Proposal
CSN aims to serve the community, not an individual. All proposals must clearly outline how the aid will be used to help the community outside of the University of Rochester. Money will not be granted as a direct donation to a cause (ie; using CSN money to donate toward fundraising). However, the costs that incur from sponsoring an event/project that meets the above criteria will be eligible for submitting a request form.
