2nd Annual Susan B. Anthony Birthday Tea
The celebration kicks off
with the annual trip to Susan B. Anthony's gravesite in Mt. Hope Cemetery to lay yellow roses - the symbol of suffrage. There will be birthday cake and tea at 11 a.m. in the Welles Brown Room, Rush Rhees Library. Eleana Kim, assistant professor of anthropology, will be the special guest. Attendees are invited to see the exhibit, A Citizen's Right to Vote: United States vs. Susan B. Anthony.
All University and
community members are welcome to join in the celebration. RSVP to sbai@rochester.edu by February 12 (rides
to the cemetery are available). Those not interested in carpooling can
meet at Anthony's gravesite (Mount Hope Cemetery Section C, Lot 93) at 10:00 a.m.
or at the Welles Brown Room at 11:00 a.m. for cake and an exhibit talk by
co-curators Angela Clark-Taylor and Lori Birrell.
Sponsored by the Susan B. Anthony Institute for Gender and Women's Studies.
