The University of Rochester Ballroom Dance club is designed and dedicated to promoting the instruction and practice of all forms of ballroom dance on the University committee. By bringing professional instructors from the Rochester Community onto campus for dance style mini-series as well as holding various social dance events during the school year, UR Ballroom provides the University the service and joy of ballroom dance. UR Ballroom's annual event, the Viennese Ball, celebrates it's 25th anniversary this year.
UR Ballroom practices every Monday night from 8PM-10PM in the May Room in Wilson Commons. Beginner lessons are 8PM-9PM, Intermediate are 9PM-10PM. Styles vary per session. Lessons are $10/beginner session, $20/intermediate. Sessions last 5 weeks. Feel free to contact an Exec. Board member if you have any questions!
UR Ballroom is currently offering both Beginner and Intermediate Viennese Waltz, in preparation for one of our two big annual events - the Viennese Ball!
The 25th anniversary of the Viennese Ball will return to campus, being held in Wilson Commons like years past. Featuring professional demonstrations, a live orchestra, lounges and refreshments, as well as a complimentary crash course, the Ball is sure to be a wonderful evening of dance. Tickets will soon be available at the Common Market, $15 for UR students, $20 for Community Members.
